Are you allowed to bring liquor with you on Princess Ships ?
............I have heard conflicting answers; and I was wondering if you are allowed to bring a bottle of liquor with you when you embark on a Princess Ship ?.........Is luggage actually searched for a bottle of liquor ?? If luggage is searched....What does Princess do with the bottle of liquor ??
No, you cannot bring liquor onboard. If you are found to have liquor in your carry on or checked baggage it is confiscated and returned to you along with any liuqor you have purchased onboard or ashore.
Liquor - No
Wine/Champagne - Yes
People will tell you that you can hide and smuggle your liquor onto the ship in your checked baggage, but that is against Princess rules.
Discretion and serreptitous operations is the word of the day.
You carry on goes through x-ray just like getting on the plane and they will pinch stuff. The checked luggage will also but will be left alone for the most part unless you have something in it that "looks" like a prohibited item or something else gets their attention.
RCCL has apparently gotten more strict. NCL is the absolute worst with stories of them sniffing bottles of water being brought on in hand and making you come down and open checked luggage that they suspect has liqour in it.

It is against ship's policy, but 99% of the folks don't get snagged. Me and my 1.75 ltr. of Skyy comes with me in the checked luggage.

We got back last night and the our bags were checked at almost every port when we returned to the ship, but not in Honolulu. Someone actually went through them and we were told that liquor would not be allowed. We had no problem bringing on bottles of wine.
