Default thinking of doing a transatlantic on the Grand

Has anyone done it? I'm a bit worried about how rough it would be..does this ship have good stabilizers? I haven't had a problem with seasickness on any of the caribbean and Mexican Riviera cruises that I've taken but I hear that crossing the ATlantic is different!

We did it on the Grand in 11.05. Ride was quit good considering the Atlantic in the Winter. The roughest part was the Strait of Gibraltar. Some movement from the Azores out for a day or so.

Camelia,

Princess offers several different Trans-Atlantic itineraries, so there is no single answer.

>> Ships repositioning from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, or vice versa, usually take a fairly southerly route (in or near the tropics) across the North Atlantic, where rough seas are the exception rather than the rule.

>> Princess's ships repositioning from the British Isles or the Baltic to Canada and New England usually take a northerly route, with ports of call in Iceland and Greenland en route, but they make this transit in late August or early September, when the northern Atlantic is relatively calm and hurricanes may stir up waters further south.

>> Ships transiting directly from the Caribbean to the British Isles or the Baltic tend to cross the middle of the North Atlantic, but again do so during seasons when the waters are most likely to be reasonably calm.

>> Ships transiting from Africa to South America usually cross in the southern tropics, where waters also tend to be calm.

This is also true of other cruise lines.

Norm.
