Default Princess e-Tickets

Has anyone used this feature yet?

Is this optional or the way it is going to be - like it or not?

Hi Irish Shark,

It's "the way it's going to be, like it or not" , if you're cruising after November 17, 2006 ! Actually, you don't even need to print out the boarding pass. Some of us just like to have the docs in hand. We've printed our boarding pass, but, from what I've read, no one even looks at it! No more "doc dances" , but we can do the Printout Polka!

You'll still get your pre-cruise package by mail with luggage tags, shore excursion book, etc., after final payment.

Thanks, Fern. If they are still going to mail stuff, then I guess I don't get it.

Printout a "boarding pass", but still mail all the other stuff.

Maybe the other stuff will also start coming online also?

like it or not e-tickets, boarding passess etc are the wave of the future.
it streamlines the whole process.
We the cruise addicted do like to get those documents in our hot little hands so that we can do the official doc dance. Its just not the same when you print them off your puter
I think that the time will come soon that we will be able to print up our luggage tags off the computer.

I think this is a good move Princess made. Not only can you print your documents(Travel Summary & Boarding Passes), but you can reserve Shore excursions and Spa treatments online too.

Oh, horrors! The days of the doc dance may be numbered!

Maybe you can replace it with the cyber-dance. You gather the family around the computer, and do a ritualized dance version of musical chairs to determine who gets to press the "Enter" key that will print the boarding pass (which you don't really need anyway).

I must say as somebody who flies an awful lot that I'm a huge fan of e-ticketing. Having a paper ticket for any form of transportation has never held any allure at all, when the alternative is so much more streamlined and user-friendly. As for cruises, the arrival of a ticket has absolutely no meaning--I've already got the date circled on the calendar--and it has no effect on how much I will enjoy the cruise.

I'm sure that in time cruisers will come to appreciate the convenience of e-tickets.

Since someone mentioned the pre-cruise package and luggage tags....please let this newbie ask a question. I just received that packet and there were luggage tags included with the ship's name.

Yet, my answer book talks about the "Travel with me," and "Join me Onboard" tags. (We are taking a pre-cruse tour.) There are no such tags in the package. Anyone have insight on this?

Thanks

We returned last month from a cruise with a pre and post cruise package.
In the envelope there were just 6 luggage tags to be put on the bags when we left the hotel to go to the ship. There were no other tags.

Upon arrival in Santiago, at the baggage claim area, the Princess rep was there. They had already pulled our bags and they were on the porter's cart ready to take them to the bus. All we had to do was to id the bags and make sure that they had all of them. No tags on the bags except for the usual ID tags.
