Default Hotels in Fort Lauderdale - Pre and Post Cruise

We are going on the Coral Princess in Jan. to the Panama Canal. Any suggestions on (decent, reasonabley priced) hotels in Ft Lauderdale that might offer shuttle service to the Port or should we just do a taxi??

You could try valuetrips.com for a special discount to AmeriSuites hotel though that might be a blackout period. If it's a blackout period, go direct to AmeriSuites and see what their rates are. Also, try Holiday Inn Express ... maybe Wyndham Airport. All of these hotels have airport to hotel service. The first two are in the 17th Street area with a lot of good restaurants available - Outback is one. They're also near Embassy Suites which is a nice place to get together with other cruisers on your ship, but rather expensive to stay at. You'll love the Coral - I've been on it twice and booked it again for next April.

I cruise the Emerald Princess, Eastern Caribbean on April 16, 2012

you have lots of choices for hotels. The cruise ship terminal is about 10 minutes from the airport and there are alot of hotels in that general area, especially on 17th Street. We love the Embassy Suites, it costs more than the average hotel room, but you get a 2 room suite, which is great for families. The Embassy Suites has a great pool, they have a great full buffet breakfast which is included in the cost. They have shuttle service.
Another very nice hotel in the same area is the Marriott Marina. IF you are looking for something less expensive with fewer amenities there is the Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and the AmeriSuites hotels.

Sleep Inn is clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. They offer a free airport shuttle as well as free cruise shuttle to the port.

If you are a smoker, the Marriott Marina won't work unless you have a balcony.
