Pre Cruising Hotels Los Angeles area

Anyone recommend a good hotel to stay in around the LA area. We will be cruising on the Diamond Princess on March 3 and would like to spend a couple of days touring the LA area.

the montrose suites hotel, $165.00 per nite was fantastic. taxi from airport and to long beach for princess was apprx $100.00 ea way!! but it was a short walk to sunset. luxurious room, great food, short other taxi ride to other sightseeing areas. if you can avoid the killer taxi $ it's great

We stayed at the Coast Long Beach Hotel right next to the Queen Mary. About $190 per night for an ocean view room with a balcony. Walking distance to the Queen Mary and some other restaurants in the area. Shuttle was $45 one way, and taxi to the pier in San Pedro was $25.

If you are driving and want a park and sail package, the Crowne Plaza on Harbor Blvd is great. Free shuttle service to/from dock and covered parking.
