Default Smoking on board

We are going with friends that smoke. I know there are certain areas on ship that smoking is allowed, but what about in your room, or on yur balcony?

Smoking is allowed in all cabins and on private balconies.

They will have to request ashtrays from their cabin steward.

As from July smoking will be prohibited in all public areas in England.
I think this should apply to cruise ships as well, at the end of the day it is a health hazard and passengers should not be subject to other peoples poisonous gases.

Smoking SUCKS so they shouldn't be doing it but they can smoke in their cabins and their decks. Might as well smoke in their rooms so they ruin it for the next passengers. Did I write that out loud?

Smoking should be allowed in the privacy of your own hermetically sealed underground bunker, and nowhere else – especially not a cruise. Smokers can commit slow suicide all they want, but don’t take me with you!

And it’s not just long term health issues, what about safety hazards? Anyone remember the fire on the Star Princess?

Smoking pollution onboard cruise ships had improved considerable over the last 10 years but there are still a few place on board where there is still some problems. (Mostly in the casino) There are still plenty of places to smoke on the ships and the cruise lines have tried to consolidate the smoke to certain areas to satisfy both smokers & non smokers. Yes you can still smoke in the cabins & balconies.
