I have been reading Cruise Mates for some time and I really enjoy all of the information that everyone has.
I have booked a cruise on the Golden for August of this year, I have never cruised on Princess before, have been on RCL, Celebrity and Carnival.
I would to know about the cabins, I have booked cabin # E732 VS, it is a aft cabin.
It will be our first time in Alaksa we can not wait!!!!
AK will blow your mind......(that is if it doesn't melt by then)
CIAO,

Thank you both for your post, I can not wait to see Alaska. I am also very excited to try Princess Cruise Line.
I am sure I will have many more questions coming up soon.
NAS-KARR I sure hope Alaska does not melt, at least until we can see it.
I also booked the Golden Princess in August. We are going ON the 4th out of Seattle. When are you going? We will be sailing with our three children...16, 13, AND 9. CAN'T WAIT
Hi Barb, we travelled on Golden last year & instantly fell in love with her as a ship. She is so well designed that despite her massive size, you never feel that you are on a large ship.
We loved Skywalkers for panoramic views - okay so you see what you've passed rather than what's coming (head along Emerald deck for our fave spot for forward facing views), but what an experience.
We were so pleased with the ship, that we are trying Grand this year, which, I believe, is pretty much the same.
Sorry we can't compare with RCI or NCL, as we've only been on P&O, Cunard, and Fred.Olsen but the Princess experience certainly "floats our boat"
Have a great cruise,
Alan & Katrina

Last year went out of Seattle on the Sun Princess with a Suite which is in the back of the ship, and the view was great. I have been on the Golden and her sister ship the Grand, they are great ships with lots of room, service was outstanding. If you go early or stay a day after be sure to see the warf and Fish market.

Does anyone who was on the Sun out of Seattle last year (2006) have the Princess Patters for their cruise? I'd like to see them since we're going out of Seattle on the Golden this June.
Thank you,

I would like to thanks everyone for answering my post, sorry I have not been on CruiseMates for awhile.
We are going on our cruise August 18, 2007, I am so very excited. I found out on another site the VS#732 is 520 sf. sounds wonderful.
I know that most people say to fly in a day before, so I have a question. We can get a flight in the AM and be in Seattle by 10:30 am, should be ok?
Also does anyone know of a good hotel at the airport? We would like to stay in Seattle a couple of days after the cruise.
