Rebooking a cruise??

Hi everyone. This is my first post and normally I find everything I need here but the search function is not working for me today...so sorry if this is a repeat topic.

I am supposed to be on the Crown next week (2/10 sailing) but I've found out that I am pregnant. I may be placed in the high risk category so my doctor will decide on Monday if I can go or not. Not so much the cruise but the flight to San Juan (from Boston). I may have to postpone till the end of March (2nd trimester)

So my question is has anyone had any problems rebooking/rescheduling cruises with Princess? Is it going to be a hassle or is the process simple?

I'd love to go but this is my first preg. and I don't want to jeopardize it.

I hope that you purchased travel insurance, because without it, since you are inside the penalty period for cancellations the money you paid towards this cruise is in jeprody.

Not likely what you want to hear, but unfortunately the cruise lines are not too sympathetic to these situations because insurance is available relatively inexpensively.

Yes Kuki, I did purchase travel insurance!

This is my 3rd cruise, the first two times we didn't go with the insurance but something told me to get it this time so I shelled out the extra $$ and got it.

The insurance should pay you everything you paid for the cruise, minus the cost of the insurance.

Then you'll be able to book again down the road at your pleasure.

Did you get insurance through the cruis eline or through a private company?

Your insurance will reimburse you with a doctors note and then you will be able to rebook when you want.

I got it through a separate company through the travel agent. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. But whatever happens, at least I got the insurance...dodged a big bullet with that one.
