Rocking to sleep on the ship!
I am a thrill seeker so I am hoping the very back of the ship has more turbulence, rocking and rolling, after we go to bed, of course. It'll make for a good night-night!!!! As in cradle. My father was a career sailor in the Navy and if he were still alive I'd ask him.

Does anyone out there have an opinion? Iwill be sailing the Star Princess ot the western carribean.

May the aft doesn't move as much?? Hmmm

Thank you

Yes you'll feel more movement either towards the bow or the stern than near the middle of the ship.

In the Caribbean it's likely to feel pretty calm, but definitely enough movement to rock you to sleep.

We were hoping for the same on the Star last November, but alas, calm seas, and we were not rockin' 'n rollin' like we were hoping. We were right up towards the bow. Really need a smaller ship to get the "teeter totter" effect. Those big 100,000 ton plus ships just seem to absord the waves a little too much!
Leaving for Hawaii on the Island Princess in two weeks, again our cabin is
right at the front and I expect that on the Pacific we will be getting a little more wave action, possibly more than we want!

Hi Kukana,

Welcome to Cruisemates!

I'm so glad to see your posting! Unlike a lot of people, we love the motion of the ship :), just like you! On our last cruise we didn't feel much movement at all :( (but we still had a great time :) ).

I think being aft will give you more movement than amidship. A bow cabin would give you more movement.

People told me that the aft rocks the most. We were near the bow and hardly felt anything.

We had a stern cabin last time and it did rock and roll! :-?
