We are considering booking a PS or VS suite on th Diamond or Island
what perks come with the extra $ for these suites? are the extra dollars worth it vs the Mini suites? What is the difference between PS &VS?

In a suite you will get the same perks that the Elite get. Being Elite myself I do not think it is worth the extra bucks. You get a mini-bar setup, consisting of several small (airline size) bottles of liquor, a couple of cans of coke, some mixers and a couple of beers. Total worth about $10.00. You get priority boarding, worth nothing. Priority tender tickets, that are worthless if you have no tender ports. You get some cheap champagne and canapés, total worth about $15.00 You used to get unlimited internet but not any more. You get free dry cleaning and laundry which is the only good perk. Value depends on how much you use it. You get to wait in a "special" lounge for disembarkation, which is not really that special just less crowded. The very best suites will also get you Butler service which may be worthwhile. Finally you get 10% off on all overinflated on-board shop purchases.

I figure I can get two cruises in a balcony cabin for the price of one in a suite, and I would rather cruise more.

We had a suite on the Island Princess to Hawiia and on the Sun to Alaska. The Sun Princess suite was alot larger, but both were like having two rooms in one. If you car afford it try it one time! Also no one has said the you get both a shower and tub (one each). My wife liked the dry cleaning and pressing. Is it worth it, Yea. Do I need it No, I like the balconys also. To us it's all about the cruising and relaxing that made the trip. The Diamonds room will be larger.
