Default Cruise Questions

Hi,

I am in need of some advice here.

So my DH & I are taking my parents on a Cruise for their anniversary in the fall to the Mexican Riviera. They are in their late 50's early 60's. My mom is concerned about being on a partying ship.

I did some research and Princess has a cruise and so does Carnival. I am way more interested in Carnival probably because I have cruised on them twice before, but has anyone gone on the MR Princess cruise to compare??

Also I dont think Carnival will be an issue just because we are thinking of the weekend of the 10/11th and a lot of people will not be on the holiday yet.

Any feedback would be appreciated. By the way who knew parents could be so picky when they arent paying, lol

I have cruised on both Carnival and Princess. Our next cruise will be with Princess, we are taking my in-laws(in their 70's) but last year we did Carnival. We have met people of all different ages on both cruises, all the way up to grand parents. There was likes and dislikes on both cruises but we like them both. I don't think you would go wrong with either line.

Default It's all good :)

No matter what ship you are on, you can find something to do (other than 'partying'). The ships are BIG. If they want quiet, they can go to the library and play cards or checkers. You can always find an out-of-the-way area with a lounge chair to read or catch some rays. Go play bingo; sit in on an art auction.... LOTS of stuff. Even a so-called party-ship isn't one big loud party from stem to stern... 8)

I think a lot depends on which specific ships you are talking about. The Carnival ship that goes out of Long Beach for 3 day and 4 day trips to Mexico is one of their oldest and smallest ships. It does not have a lot of the amenities of the newer ships. On the other hand the Princess ship out of L.A. is the Diamond - lots of amenities, a beautiful newer and larger ship. I would vote for the Diamond.

Default Which cruise ship

I took the Princess Diamond out of Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera - BEAUTIFUL ship! Very good food, great staff, lots of things to see and do.

Both are decent cruise lines but in your situation my personal opinion would be to go with Princess.
