Default Island Princess to Alaska - Room Suggestion

My family and I are about to book on the Island Princess to Alaska. Our cabin options are basically at the front and back of the ship. I would appreciate advice and opinions about which area of the ship would be a better cabin location. Thanks in advance!

Been on the Island, but you did not say which type of room you have? I think you should get the room as close to mid-ship as possible! I know that with a family you sometimes have to select a specific room, based on how many people are in the room. The Island Princesss is a little smaller then alot of the Princess ships.

I was in Alaska 9-11-2001 on the Carnival Spirit. Seas were calm in the inside passage except for the last cruising toward the end [North to South]toward Vancover. My husband and I will be on the Island Princess May28,2007. We will be going on the train for 5 more days to Fairbanks.

If you have a balcony, parts of the ship "bumps" out and if you are to close to the "bumps" you may have difficulty seeing forward or aft. Pick something in the middle if you have a balcony.
