Beer Brands on Alaska Cruises

Morning everyone;
I am sure that this has been discussed before, but are there any "REAL" beer brands available on these cruises? What I mean by REAL beer is something other than the generic all taste the same (not beer) American brands. Do they offer "some forms of "draft" beer on tap in the lounges such as Sam Adams or any more full bodied real beer tasting ones.

Fellow Beer drinker, I did an Alaskan Cruise on Carnival Spirit in 05, no draught beer on board, only the usual canned/bottled, eg. bud, coors, bass ale, guinness, boddingtons, dos equis etc. The Princes ships I have been one were the same, no draught beer and much the same packaged beers.

P&O Australia ships have draught beer, Fourex or Victoria Bitter.

Hope this assists, all in all Carnival and Princess have pretty ordinary beers for us beer freaks.

while i do like the idea of being able to relax with a drink on scenic cruising days... there will be at least a few cool bars at the ports you are going to so you could always take advantage of yummier AND cheaper beer by doing some of your drinking on land...
alaska really seems to have quite a few popular breweries so drinking quality beer should DEFINITELY be a part of your ALASKA experience! my boyfriend and i have vowed not to pay $5 a pop for watered down domestics on the boat so we are doing all of our excursions early, leaving time to relax with a round of local brew before returning to the ship. also, i am already quite a fan of alaskan amber, and am really looking forward to taking their brewery tour in juneau...

MEGS, that's the spirit, drink ashore, some great pubs in Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, I remember the red onion saloon, don't forget to bring a dozen back on board with you.

I FORGOT..Princess sell BECKS on board, German lager, good.
