Default Roller Skating on Deck??

Ok, here is a new one [ I think ] have you ever seen anyone rollerskating on board? Do you think this would be a no no. I have never seen anyone doing it but I was asked and now I am asking you. It sounds like fun but there may not be the room to do it without running over a walker kRIS

I'm sure it would not be allowed on deck of any ship but on RCL Mariner OS they do have an Inline track and we have seen ppl skating there.

Wow, this is interesting. My grandson (grandaughter too but she doesn't use them a lot) has a pair of sneaks with the wheels built in.

He uses them everywhere for every day use. You wouldn't know it unless you saw him in action. They appear and function as any other sneaks ........ and then every once in a while he kicks up his heels and ............ there he goes. Could be in the mall, the gym, the street ......... or anywhere else. He really is good with it and has never had a problem but it makes me nervous.

I personally am not a fan and, although in a controlled environment it might be OK, am against the whole thing, if used in public areas.

I wouldn't go for it aboard ship.

Hi Kris,

I don't know what cruise you'll be on, but this is the Carnival rule, and I'd expect that it would be the same on Princess:

Quote:
Due to "Safety Concerns", the following items cannot be utilized on board but may be brought on board for use in port, only:
Roller Blades/Skates
Snorkel Gear
Skateboards
Golf Clubs
Fishing Rods (packed)
Tennis Rackets
Kites (packed)

Thanks everyone for your input, I knew it would be too dangerous to skate on deck but the thought of skating in the ocean air with youthful abandon sounded so nice.

I read that rollerskating burns 800 calories an hour and I remember how much I loved to skate when I was growing up, of course that was when you needed a skate key.
I will still buy a pair and cruise around my neighborhood and use this as a weight loss program. I will let you know if I actually lose weight or just start breaking things Kris [ going through second childhood ]

Oh, my! Did you ever bring back some memories! I kept losing my skate key and Daddy would have to pull my skates (and shoes) off. It became a joke in our family! Then Mother put my key on a piece of string to wear around my neck. Problem solved !

Thanks!
