I`M LOOKING TO FIND OUT HOW THE FOOD ON THE DAWN PRINCESS COMPARES TO THE FOOD ON THE NORWEGIAN DAWN, I`VE CRUISED NORWEGIAN 4 TIMES AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. I`VE HEARD MIXED REVIEWS, DOES ANYONE HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH SHIPS. ALSO WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER IN MEXICO LATE OCT-EARLY NOV???? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
If you were happy on the Norwegian Dawn you will go CRAZY over any Princess ship. In my opinion it's like trying to compare a brand new Cadillac and a 1935 Ford. Was with NCL once and after I sailed with Princess I would NEVER go back. The food and service between the two cannot compare.
We went to Mexican Riviera last October. There were tropical storms or depressions the week before and the week after. Except for 1 day in Acupolco when it rained all day, we had mostly sunny skies and the seas were calm.
You should consider taking a umberlla or poncho. NCL offered poncho's for a dollar or $2, but they sold out quickly. I don't know if Princess does, but I would assume they do.
Most of the storm on the pacific side tend to curve northwest before hitting land. The few that do hit land tend to be weak. Their season is mostly over by the end of September.
Celebrity Mercury - Hawaii

I must disagree with Jim. We have cruised Princess and NCL and much prefer NCL for the 'freestyle'. There are so many more choices of venues on the newer NCL ships. We did Princess Personal Choice dining but it only gave us 1 dining room + the buffet and Pizzaria. NCL had 2 main dining rooms + several free speciality restaurants and 3 pay ones. We found the food, service, ship and entertainment to be very similar on both lines. I would happily do both again depending on the itinerary but would always go with NCL if possible.
