Default Would you like this "upgrade"? UPDATE...

We were just checking out our cruise on Princess.com and found out we received a "complimentary" upgrade. We booked a Dolphin Mid-ship cabin and now we are booked in a Lido Suite directly in the front of the ship. We like looking directly down at the ocean and now we get to look down at the front of the ship. While we think this is great to get a suite we don't think this is a good upgrade. Anyone have any experience or thoughts?

If the original cabin was a balcony, then it is an even trade off. Otherwise the extra room is worth it

Yes, we had a Dolphin mini-suite and I am very happy to be upgraded to a Suite, not ungrateful but at the same time I am very worried about it being to windy to lay out and too much motion.

An update regarding Suite upgrade on the Crown. The Suite, Lido 107 is a very nice cabin. Confirgured differently than most because of the front location. It is 2 separate rooms. Sofa sleeper and chair in the front room with the refrigerator and TV. Oval coffee table and 2 end tables with a bookshelf and 2 large drawers each. The mini-bar had 2 waters, 2 beers, 2 cokes, 2 sprites, 2 perriers, 2 tonics and 8 small bottles of liquor - 4 types. We received a beautiful bouquet of flowers, basket of fruit with replinishment anytime and could request many types of canapes each day. Robes were in the in the closet. The bathroom has a tub and there are nice toileteries.

The bedroom is a large room, 1 large closet and 1 small one. A desk with hair dryer. We have a large picture window looking onto the top of the bridge where there is a railing and I have seen only 1 person on it (today-staff only). The balcony is a nice size, curving along the front of the ship with 2 loungers, 2 metal chairs, metal eating table and metal drink table. We had 2 plastic chairs and rectangle table but that was taken away due to the wind conditions.

I know this all sounds wonderful and it was nice to have the large space BUT we could ONLY use our balcony in port which we were in too so time was limited. It was TOO windy to use daily! The other thing, we are directly under the gym...DIRECTLY under the treadmills!! AWFUL!!!! We were woke up every morning at 7 am! We continuely called the desk, we went up to the gym, we did everything we could but always got...we are working on the problem. DH even went up there once just to see what was going on and he asked which treadmills he could use and they plainly said anyone he wanted. No intention of limiting the ones above us. The noise that we experienced when someone was running on the treadmills is horrendous. We could never take a nap or read a book.

Yes it was a treat to be upgraded to a Suite and yes we were very grateful but not all upgrades are great. We paid for a mini-suite, received an upgrade to a suite but honestly we received an extra large oceanview cabin and we would never pay or recommend this cabin Suite. I suggested they give this cabin to the entertainers each cruise.

Live and learn. Now, on to the next cruise.
