Default Just back from Alaska (Golden Princess)

We just got back from our Alaska cruise (August 25 - Sept 1)

This was my 5th cruise and 2nd on princess.

I can honestly say this was a great cruise and have zero complaints about it.

Embarking was super easy, took 15 min from time of exiting cab till onboard.

Room was nice (Balcony room Caribe deck) We brought extra hangers as I like to hang everything. This was not needed as there were about 40 hangers in the room. Closet was large and plenty of drawer space clothes. We actually had drawers we never used. Bathroom is about what you would expect; water pressure and shower head were nice. The only thing I would recommend is bringing a shower caddy lol. There is only one small shelf to put stuff in the shower.

We never ate in the dining area so I can not rate that. Buffet food was about what you would expect so I was not disappointed with it. I drink milk so my only request would be to leave it out for lunch and diner instead of having to ask for it since it is free after all.

I was really surprised by the entertainment. My opinion is Princess is not known for having great entertainment. The shows were really well done and the comedian was very funny.

I spent some time in the casino and was very pleased with my experience there. For those in question, yes they do have electronic Texas hold'em (2 tables) this is played the exact same way but with no dealer it is played more like you would experience with on-line play. Put money on a casino card and wait for at least 2 other people to sit down to get started. That was a problem as we could never find enough people to start a game. They did have a hold'em tournament later in the week and had about 40 people sign up.

The ports were nice and we hade nice weather for the most part. Ketchikan had some rain but other then that it was very nice. Victoria was by far our favorite port.

Disembarking was very easy at each port and back in Seattle.

Overall I am very happy with our princess cruise and hope you all enjoy yours as much as we did.

Just curious as to why you never ate in the dining room.

Welcome back, Evolrider: we have C515 booked on the Golden for our upcoming cruise. Can't wait! Any recommendations on "must-sees" in Victoria?

Answer to the first question... I guess we just really never felt like dressing up for the dining room.. we were in shorts most of the time and the buffet is just simple.

As far as Victoria, I loved Nautical Nellies, there was a great little pub around the corner from there as well (Forgot the name) and the street performers by the water way were fun to watch.
