Hi there!
My husband and I r going, but not on 11/3. We're going for the Christmas and New Year holiday in Dec. on the Diamond. I know you're going to enjoy this ship and the cruise to Hawaii. Tell us all about it when u get back. Happy Cruising!

We just got back from Hawaii on the Diamond on 10/4. What a wonderful time!!! The days at sea were a little long but that is something that can't be avoided. The weather was beautiful; a couple of cool days coming back.

Well, we are back now. We did have a spectacular time, the weather was great, seas were smooth, service was excellant, and the ports of call were spectacular. We always found lots to do on the ship during the sea days so we were never bored. (of course this will depend on what you like to do). The only thing that I was slightly dissappointed in was the food. I know, this as well, depends on your personal taste. It was all good, I guess I just maybe have had a little too high of expectation going into it. But all in all, we loved every minute of this cruise! Have a great time!

Seatime,
We are traveling on the Diamond Princess to Hawaii next Thurs., Jan.17. You mentioned that the food didn't quite meet your expectations. Any other hints or concerns we should be aware of? My husband and I haven't cruised in years, and the ship we went on wasn't nearly this big, so we really don't know what to expect.

Hello missj44,

First of all, have a great time on your cruise. On this particular ship they, have a "set dining time"(traditional) as well as "anytime dining". If you have the traditional dining you can't use the anytime dining restaurants until about after 8pm. They have the same menu as the regular dining rooms except they have one "speciality" entree.
About my comment about the food, I just thought that, it wasn't bad, I just have had better on cruise ships.
About the size of the ship, I wouldn't be "afraid" of the size of it. I am not sure what you like to do, but they did have a lot of activities on it, which I enjoyed. The have a survivor contest, which has great prizes. I won it on my cruise. No, you don't have to eat anything, and it is quite easy.
Renting vehicles is a very easy, and inexpensive way to see a lot of the islands.
I can't think of anything else at the moment, everything else is pretty standard compared to other cruises, but If you have anything specific that you would like to ask, please feel free to email me at macksteele@hotmail.com
