Dawn Princess to Alaska-Sept. 2008

I really need some help about packing for this cruise! I don't have a problem with Caribbean cruises, but this one seems to need 3 different types of clothing

!

If you've cruised Alaska in September I'd love to hear from you and would like to know what you packed

.

We sailed on the Golden out of Seattle this past Sept. Had drizzle off and on in Juneau, so a sweatshirt, jeans and rain jacket w/hood did the trick. Skagway was sunny and pleasant... long-sleeved top and jeans. We booked a helicopter tour-glacier hike for the afternoon and wore layered clothing for that. Shirt, sweat-shirt, waterproof jacket, gloves and hat. Temp on the glacier was about 32 degrees....brrrrr. Ketchikan was overcast, but temps were comfortable. Thanks Janice Marie! I was concerned that we'd need "warm" weather clothes along with the "brrrr" clothes! We should be okay with long pants, long sleeved shirts, sweaters, a hat and gloves and a water resistant jacket? (Not counting formal dress

!)

Is it cool inside the ship (dining rooms, lounges, show rooms)?

It was very comfortable inside the ship - dining rooms, show rooms, lounges, etc. The only cool spot on the ship was in the area of the Horizon Court that leads out to the aft deck. It can get pretty chilly in that corner when passengers are coming in or going out. Brrrrr......
