Default Chef's Table

I have just read in the newspaper about the Chef's Table experience now offered on some of the Princess ships. We would love to do this but if they do a good job with the wine/food/and general experience. Has anyone done this yet....and how was it. Thanks very much.

Friends of mine did this on the Emerald Princess last November and loved it - even though it did cost $75 per. They only take 10 people and I think just a couple of nights on the cruise so try to sign up as soon as you get onboard. Believe the number is published in the first Princess Patter. However, when they were all gone right away, my friends complained cuz they hadn't got a reservation when they were on very early. Reservations are only taken on the ship. In the end, they arranged it for them to be included.

Would anyone be able to provide a FEW more details... if anyone could describe the menu... or the wines... I am a HUGE foodie ... trained in Switzerland... and also worked in a restaurant with a 10000 bottle cellar...
for $150 per couple, my expectations are high

I am craving foie gras, caviar, sweetbreads... pretty much all the finer things I don't get to eat for fear my 4 year old will LIKE it. (I brought caviar from Russia for my Aunt and Uncle in Germany and my 7 year old cousin liked it so much she wouldn't eat anything else until the jar was empty)

The meals are individually decided upon by the chef, so can't give you details ... and the wines are chosen to go with each course. Do believe they start with champagne and the appetizers in the galley and proceed from there.

We've not done the Chef's table, but have heard nothing but wonderful things about it on other cruise boards.

Here's a bit about it from the princess website, if you are interested in reading it.
