Plaza Deck and Seattle Transfers

Got a June booking for Alaska out of Seattle and wondered if anyone knows about transfers. Is it better to take a Princess transfer or take a cab from the airport to the pier? Also anyone ever had a cabin on the Plaza deck on the outside on the Star Princess? We are going with friends that haven't been on a cruise and I want them to really get the best experience of all there is to be had. So if anyone has any pointers or tips I can pass on, please let me know!

Hi Tracy: We sailed on the Golden Princess out of Seattle Sept. 15th. We used a Town Car service to and from the airport. Cost was $40 for the two of us (not per person) plus a tip for the driver. Driver met us at the airport and dropped us off at the ship. It was about a 30 minute drive. We pre-booked with him for disembarkation and it was a breeze. We disembarked at 8:30, hopped in the car and made it to at the airport in plenty of time for our 12:30 flight. We browsed through a few airport shops for last minute souveniers and enjoyed an early lunch at one of restaurants. If you book a transfer with the ship, you end up waiting for the bus to fill before you leave for the airport. The transfer with Princess was $18 per person, so we opted for the Town Car service for $4 dollars more. It was worth it.

Thank you for the info. Sounds like something we can use. :D
