San Diego - Dawn Princess - distance from airport

How far is it or how long will it take from the San Diego airport to the cruise terminal/port for the Dawn Princess. We are being picked-up by another couple ( we are flying in, they live in So. Ca.) and driving to the dock to park the car.

The airport is only a couple miles away, probably a 5-10 minute drive depending on traffic. If I remember correctly there is minimal parking at the dock but many parking structures near by with shuttles.

We were on the Dawn in Dec. There is a parking lot very close to to Pier. Although we did not drive we saw plenty of people parking and dragging their bags to the pier. You should have no problem. Have a great time and try the pizza it is pretty good.

The cruise pier is about two city blocks from the nearest entrance to the airport terminals, along the same road. It's actually would be a reasonable walk without one's luggage for a cruise. Exiting the airport, turn left on the road along the waterfront and then turn right into the cruise terminal complex.

people in San diego think any drive less than 20 minutes hardly counts as they are used to driving an hour to get anywhere.

Can you make a drop off of family and luggage at the entrance to the loading area and then go park your car?

Yes, the lot is right across the street...a two minute walk if ya park in the back.

I used to live in S.D. and the airport is only a matter of a few miles to and from the Cruise Ships.
