Verizon on Grand Princess

The Verizon website states that the Grand Princess has cell phone service. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I found this on the ATT site...probly about the same for Verizon

We were on the Grand in Jan & I thought we were connected to the cell tower on land but it was the ships equipment that was giving us the signal & I only checked my voice mail (Verizon) briefly. I wouldn't make a habit of using the ship's connection unless it was important & I still haven't received the charges from Verizon yet. It doesn't take any registration to use the cell phone since the cell carrier reimburses the cruise line after billing you.

It's good to know that my cell phone will work on the Grand. I wouldn't use it but it's good to know that it will work. Thanks for the info.
