Default Feedback From Your STAR Princess Experience?

I'm booked on the STAR Princess ship for a cruise to Alaska the first week of June. Would love to hear from those of you who've sailed on this ship and have advice for me.

Best time to attend shows...best seating....etc., etc.....

I'm a planner and would love to hear your experience so I can plan with those in mind.

THANKS!

Haven't been to Alaska on the Star but.....

Get to the shows about half hour before start. Seats fill rapidly.
The hot tubs deck 16 aft, I believe, are is a great place to hang out. There is a pool there also.

Just out the doors of the Horizon Court aft is another pool area. But there is a protected area that is just perfect for morning coffee and wake watching, only place better is on your balcony!

We cruised her twice, 2002 & 2003, and she is still our favorite Princess ship. We just got off the Diamond Princess and we had to be at the show 45 minutes early to get a decent seat. Dave, the CD, explained it to me as follows: the theaters hold all of 1st or 2nd dining plus half but because of the Anytime Dining, they can't predict attendance therefore it can get crowded.

Hi i was on the star last september and she was great. I always pick anytime dining because 1 can be a rush if you get back late from a tour and not everyone wants 2 because it may be a bit to late. So anytime is the best of both worlds. But you may have to wait sometimes for a table.

Default Thanks For Your Helpful Tips!

Thanks for all the helpful info! This is my first solo cruise...so don't know how that may affect seating at dinner, with my "anytime" dining choice.

And...thanks for the heads up on the after dinner shows...I can see how the anytime dining would make timing for a good seat more difficult.

I appreciate everyone's input!
