Default Travellers cheques in US$

I have in the past left Travellers Cheques at the desk rather than Canadian credit cards to avoid the huge rip offs and have never had a problem at least with Celebrity and RCI. has anyone tried this with Princess as I read here this line can be difficult at times.

your travelers cheques are as good as cash, have never had any problems using them on Princess
