Default The Love Boat

Hey baby boomers! "The Love Boat" Season One was just recently released on DVD. I have no doubt it's what inspired many of us to go on a cruise (instead of a land-based vacation) years ago, then we got hooked! Oh yes! It's Saturday night! Time to pop some popcorn, grab a cold soda, and spend an hour with Capt. Stubing, Julie, Gopher, Isaac, and Doc

I loved that show and will have to order it through Blockbuster/Netflix.

I seem to recall that every episode had at least one basic subplot.. The distraught couple who with the help of ships staff, reunite onboard. Always at the same railing overlooking the full moon. Classic 70s cheese but I could not get enough of it. Then there was my favorite guest, Charo!

A while back a came across a picture of the original Pacific Princess, renamed of course, but she was docked right next to one of RCIs Voyager class. I was amazed; I remember her being so HUGE.

Anyway, I cannot wait to check out the DVDs

OK, I had to hear it!!!!

Well, I couldn't find one of Charo on the Love Boat but I remember this one with Carol Burnett - a classic. And Charo was such a sport about it all!

Thanks JaxGuy, for the great clips. They bring back a lot of great memories of the Love Boat.

We just received our Love Boat DVD. It's three discs covering 12 episodes from the first season and yes, Charo is in one of them. Great fun watching and reminising !

In the "olden" days, every time I turned on my computer, the Love Boat theme played! The show was the reason I started cruising..those late night reruns, got me hooked, back in 1990!

As a bit of trivia, as you watch the old shows....see how many times, a Gucci carry on, is seen in the embarkation scenes. This suitcase should have gotten ff miles!

Like everyone else, I loved that show and the cabins always looked so big---when we finally went on our first cruise on the old Carnival Mardi Gras
we had an outside on Riveria deck with a plate sized porthole. That had to be the smallest cabin on any ship--if it had been any smaller they would have had to call it a closet !! But--we didn't know any better and loved it--that was March-'83 ---boy-o-boy--ships have changed.

Regarding Charo, she used to have a restaurant on the Island of Kaui in Hawaii. Nice location right on the beach in a beautiful setting but that was several years back so she may or may not still have it.
