Well cruisers and cruisettes, we just got back from our Crown Princess saily that 22 March and can't tell you how wonderful it was. If you have a sailing on this ship in the near future, RUN do not walk to the Sactuary Deck 17 Forward and reserve a chair in this awesome space for the entire cruise. It will cost $100 per person for the cruise but is well worth it. We did it only for our sea day (cost was $40 for both full day) and I could have kicked myself for not signing up for it all week. Even with a ton of port calls, it would have be a great oais to return to.
Also did the thermal suite and it was wonderful. But in hindsight, I would have gone for the Sactuary.
We also loved the Sanctuary on the Crown Princess. Well worth the extra cost. Looking forward to visiting the the Sanctuary again in November.

We were on the Crown last August. We used the adult pool by the spa daily but the Sanctuary above was empty the whole week and to many people it was thought to be a waste of space. No one saw the need to spend the extra $ for a plush lounger and fruit. What did you find so special and worth paying extra for?

I really liked the privacy and loved the plush towels. The lounge chairs were so much more comfortable. They served chilled water with lemon at no charge and had a nice selection of smoothies on the menu for a reasonable price. The crew was really wonderful.

I think the big thing to remember is that when we sailed Crown it was in the middle of Spring Break. We decided not to book the Sanctuary for the whole cruise at the very beginning because our itenerary had so many port calls. In the end we would have preferred to reserve for the whole cruise for a couple of reasons... 1) wasted space is what many people saw on our cruise too, but if you had a space there--even for one day--it represented freedom. Free to come and go and NEVER loose your seat. 2) On our one sea day I got up at 6 to get in line at 7 a.m. to be in line so that we could have two chairs for my partner's birthday. Arriving at 6:50 a.m. I was 4th in line. The point is that the space is limited to a certain number of cruisers. Not much different than the on-board restaurants. It is an added feature. 3) It's more than just a nice chair and fruit...it's like first class. It's a nicer space, it has a special staff appointed to serve it, and is secluded, and it...to fit the theme of Princess, helps one "escape completely" more so than one might on any other part of the ship.
Overall, It was a great space for me. I would not continue to sail on Princess if Princess didn't make me feel special on each cruise. That said, I like that Princess knows that for those who are willing, we can enhance our already high expectations. The Sanctuary did it for me.
the extra charge is unaccectable. If you want a snack its also extra. Intl cafe extra cost, sushi extra cost, pizza RS extra cost, ice cream extra cost

We are 4 booked on the Crown this fall, so you are saying that to get a spot on the deck of this ship for us to all sit together will cost us an extra $400????
Not sure of the cost per day, around $40 but the Sanctuary Deck is on the Sports Deck with the Lotus Spa pool below open for everyone. It is not on the Lido Deck where the main pools are. Again, we saw no need to pay extra for this service. JMHO.
