This will be our first Princess cruise and I feel like a newbie asking all these questions, but...
We'll be sailing on the Caribbean Princess on June 13th out of NYC. I'd love some feedback from the experienced Princess cruisers.
- Are soda cards avail?
- What is the spa like? I'm sure it's wonderful (as most are).
- Is there Walk Off Disembarkation or Express Disembarkation where you carry your own luggage & don't have to wait till you color is called?
- What is disembarkation in NYC like? When we cruise on NCL, we're usually off the ship by 9 am and have a limo waiting for us. I don't know what time to have them arrive this time.
- Any don't miss type of things on this ship?
soda stickers that go on your cruise card are available for $3.95 per day plus 15% gratuity.
I was on the Caribbean Princess in February and they were no longer calling colors. You were told to go to a specific area and told approximately what time you would be getting off the ship.
I can't wait either. THis winter seems so long!! My sister is leaving Sat on the ship we did for Christmas, NCL Gem. They'll love it. We're doing the Gem again for New Year's this year.
Looking forward to doing something different. Haven't been to Bermuda and we love the beach. Margaritaville in Grand Turk will be fun. St. Thomas is always my favorite shopping locale, unless we're going to St. Maarteen. Pureto Rico is just a blah stop. I've been there about 11 times and haven't found anything I like about it. Although, this will be our first time there when we can actually do a beach day. Have no idea where to go and will need to check it out.
I'm sure this cruise will be wonderful. Any day on a cruise is better than sitting at your desk in your office!

Yes they are.

Yes the spa is nice, they offer discounts on spa services when the ship is in port.
- Is there Walk Off Disembarkation or Express Disembarkation where you carry your own luggage & don't have to wait till you color is called?
Yes, it's great and the taxi's are waiting just outside.
I recomend hand carry your luggage to your cabin on embarktion.
Otherwise you may not receive it until 5 pm.

Program the Limo companies number in your cell and better yet enter the drivers number in your cell, After clearing customs you'll be on your way.
Hi, I just sailed the CP for the 2nd time in 2 years, and am in the process of writing a review with pics on the Chit Chat board. Just go to Chit Chat for cruisers, look for the Caribbean Princess posts by rollerdonna, and check out Parts 1-5 so far.....
donna
edited to note: I have added all 9 parts to this board.
any other questions, please PM me.
The cruise lines charge for soda cards.
They have walk off service, but you still wait in line.
I have not been to the terminal in NYC
Try to dine in the Restaurants, Anytime dining is my cut of tea.
The shows are a great memory and the tours are well worth the money in most cases.
We cruised on the Crown out of NY last year. I think the Caribbean is replacing her. We docked in Brooklyn at the Red Hook Pier. We had a private car waiting for us when we returned and it was a good thing too because there was a taxi strike for a few days.
