Mini-suites on Sapphire, Emerald aft deck

Has anyone stayed in one of the mini-suites in the aft portion of the Emerald deck on the Sapphire? We are booked for Alaska 2009 and have time to change if any of these are the case:
1. Do the life boats block any of your view that are forward of these suites?
2. Is there noise from the deck below?
3. Is any of the balcony covered and does it matter if it is or is not?
Thanks for your imput!

The mini-suites at the aft portion of the Emerald deck are, in my opinion, the best on the ship. Unlike the mini-suites on Dolphin deck, which are completely uncovered, these balconies are COMPLETELY covered and private. The lifeboats do not obstruct your view. Some have reported hearing noise from the lounge below, but I have not. I hope you choose to keep your Emerald mini-suite - I think you'll enjoy it!

Mini Suits

I have been in a mini suite, the only noise, was from drunk fools stumbling down the corridore at 2:00 AM.

The deck you are booked contains one of the highest percentage of cabins of most decks, the center of the ship will have the highest level of traffic noise, the aft and foward cabins that are furtherest from elevator banks will reduce the corridore traffic noise.

The pros and cons of aft vs forward are of course varible, I have personally been in cabins located at the far forward. The wind across the veranda was so severe, that the veranda was not uasable.

I have also been on a inside cabin on the plaze deck, I could hear the anchor being dropped durning mooring, ofcourse the side thrusters will produce moderate vibrations when docking, but these type of distractions were positive in my view, I had a built in alarm when arrival at ports of call.

Happy Sailing
Danny

Actually, the mini-suites are only at the very aft of that deck, so there is no choice of forward and aft if you are booking a mini-suite on the Emerald Deck. Again - I think you'll love it!
