Default CARIBBEAN PRINCESS ENGINE TROUBLE

The Caribbean Princess is suposedly having engine trouble and is "limping" back to NY. They are changing the itinerary for the 7/1 cruise.
Anybody here of any changes to the 7/19 cruise ??

I was booked on the Star a couple of years ago two weeks after the fire and had my cruise cancelled I don't want to face that disappontment again !

We are on the July 10 sailing. I haven't heard anything about changes to our itinerary...... Nor can I find any confirmation of this engine trouble.

Seems not only was the itenerary for July 1 changed but the current sailing may have had less port time on some of their stops.

I think something is going on. Princess destroyed the cruise I am going on July 28th. They changed St. Maarten with Tortola and from a full day at port to only half a day. And they changed the times for all of the other ports as well (no beach time in San Juan). In short the changes suck.

** DEPARTURE TIME FROM NEW YORK REVISED AND ITINERARY MODIFIED **

Please be advised that due to operational reasons, the departure time from
New York has been changed from 5:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In addition, the port
call to St. Maarten on August 1, 2008 has been cancelled and replaced with a
port call to Tortola on August 2 from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Also, the port
timings for San Juan, St. Thomas and Grand Turk have been amended and are now
as follows:

San Juan: July 31, 2008 from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm
St. Thomas: August 1, 2008 from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm
Grand Turk: August 3, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Shore excursions for Tortola (and all other ports on this voyage) may be
pre-reserved online via the Cruise Personalizer at www.princess.com
We look forward to welcoming you aboard Caribbean Princess!

We are leaving Aug. 6 and all of our ports are the same but the times are different. We lost about 7 hours of port time for the trip so far. We will see what happens as we get closer to sailing.

I would guess it is repaired by now.

they have changed the port times on the July 10th and August 15th also.

No changes (yet) on the July 19th. But, we do the ports in reverse order of these. Maybe our itinerary allows for the extra time needed to travel with a slower ship ?

GO ON CRUISE PERSONALIZER UNDER YOUR BOOKING CODE AND CHECK YOUR ITINERARY THERE THE CHANGES ARE POSTED. YOU WON'T RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM PRINCESS UNTIL YOU ARE CLOSER TO YOUR CRUISE.

Thanks for the help. It looks like they took four hours off Puerto Rico. That's a shame! Anyone know why the changes were made or is that normal? Oh well. I'm really hoping for no engine trouble.

Just got back from being on the Caribbean Princess. Everything was going so well until we "lost an engine." San Juan was shortened, and the excursion that we booked was cancelled due to problems on the highway...something like that. And then we had a short stay in Bermuda, where there was mass confusion when many excursions were canceled! Our only regret was that we couldn't enjoy Bermuda the way we were supposed to..such a gorgeous island! My sister and I were able to make it to Horseshoe Bay...by miracle...but we were only there for one hour! The rest of the family could't enjoy the excursion that they had planned! I guess just bad luck for our first cruise! Had lots of fun, though! Last travel day was a bit exciting...7 1/2 to 12-foot swells...felt like I was in an earthquake that lasted for hours and hours!!!!! Didn't get sick, though!

You will be disappointed I am going in august and my travel agent just called me to say we are losing 4 hours in P.R and one hour in each of the other ports.
