Did the Love Boat Show, influence you at all to cruise? Is sure did for me. Those reruns I watched in the late 80's finally made me make the call to a Ta.......
I knew one couple who did cruise, when the show first started because of it, on the Pacific Princess too, and I thought, they were so rich! Bck then, the fares must have been quite pricey compared to now!
And of course, I thought all the cabins were huge, and the Captain wore short shorts!
Didn't everyone dress to the nines as they walked onboard?
The crew could fix any problem in 60 minutes!
The pools were little circles, that fit about 10 people:)
The moon did light up the ocean like a backdrop:)
Did you dream along with every episode as I did? I finally got onboard my first in, May 1990:)
Trip, with her book & tea!

I fell in love with cruising watching the love boat. Unfortunately, it wasn't until 1997 that I finally convinced my husband to go on a cruise. He thought he would be totally bored and only went because we were dooing a family cruise with my parents and my sister's family. Of course, now, he keeps saying "How come we only have 4 cruises booked? Can't you find another one for us to take???"
I enjoyed the show but the fact that we did not return to cruising until 2001, after a land tour of Italy tells me cruising was not high on our list of vacations. The trip to Alaska sure changed our minds about cruises and cruising. We have been on eight cruises with two more booked. Mike

I was living in upstate New York when Love Boat was on. I used to mentally go with them on every cruise. Especially in the middle of winter when it would drop to 20 below...or worse....and snow and ice seemed to be constantly falling. Finally moved to Florida and went on my first cruise through single share on NCL in 1982. Was instantly hooked....still am!
