Default Previous Carnival, attempting Princess, past guest?

Since Carnival owns (?) Princess, will Princess honor my past guest experience on Carnival?

I am confused.

I thought the VIP (vacation interchange priviledge) of the parent company--Carnival---allowed us to get a past guest fare discount.

I wanted to try the same thing as worthew8.

If I had my Princess cruise credits on CArnival I would definitely try a Carnival cruise (which I haven't yet done)

You ARE treated as a repeat passenger on ANY and ALL Carnival Corp. ships once you sail on one of them.

However, the level you reach in their repeater's clubs does not transfer with you.

So... basically if you have sailed Carnival, then go on a Princess cruise. On Princess you'd be treated as if it were your second cruise with them, so you'd get invited to the repeaters cocktail party.

Wow, I get to fight for a free drink. If I can find a waiter.

Kuki,
Does that mean if I'm trying to get to Platinum status with Carnival and I cruise on Princess (or others owned by Carnival) that cruise will not increase my numbers towards the 10 I need?

Nope it does not count toward your Platinum status.
