What travel agency does Princess use to sell empty room a week before sailing?

I think any travel agent would be able to tell you availability. You have to be booked at least 72 hours before the cruise.

If Princess would really have a short notice sailing notification as they say they do there would be lots of people ready to go at a moments notice- myself included. If they called me on a Tues evening I could be at the dock on Sat morning bag in hand provided the price was decent.
Either one of two things- They don't have such a program or the ships that sail are always full. (hard to believe)
Perhaps the short notices are only given to the ta's who then notify only people they deal with all the time. Who knows?

Princess does not farm out vacant cabins. They have a whole division that sells cabins inhouse. In other words, they ARE a T/A.

You can become a member of Princess by going through the Princess web site. One of the options is to be notified on a last minute basis for such unsold cabins. Over six years, 14 miles from the cruise center, I have gotten ONE offfer at the embarkation -52 hour mark.

Then they must be sailing full or offering the last minute cabins to only a select group. I've never heard of many people receiving any offers.

Last 3-4 cruise I have seen a sign at the purser's deck stating ship was full. Stops pax asking if an upgrade for money was possible.

That's pretty much the standard at all lines, because many people look for free upgrades if the ship is not sold out. They don't realize that in most cases, upgrades (if any) are already assigned.
