Default My ship has come in

The Ruby Princess has arrived in Fort Lauderdale today. We will be driving down on Friday to board the ship on Saturday. It will be great to get away from work for a week.

I am a bit bummed about the naming ceremony and all the inaugural festivities being done on a 20day cruise to nowhere for VOPs. When we booked and then when we were given the opportunity to move our booking to the new 'inaugural' date, we were under the impression that the sailing on the 8th would be the inaugural. Had I known that the inauguration would be a special sailing for VIPs, I would have kept my original date (not gone through the hassle of changing everything) and been able to upgrade to a better cabin.

I'll still have fun. After all, I will be on a cruise. They just put a slight damper on my anticipation...

Hi Sharon,
In spite of all that, I bet you have a great cruise, enjoy it!

Have a brilliant cruise, and enjoy being amongst the first to try out all the wonderful things on board.

Alan & Katrina

PS if there's a silver lining to the VIP cruise, remember that they are the guinea pigs and if anything goes wrong (usually dining service) it's the VIPs who will suffer and it'll be sorted by the time you board

Good point. Let them discover the toilets that aren't wuite working right and the dining room teams that haven't gotten used to each other yet.

I'm sure that on a 2 night cruise, they won't have time to really enjoy the ship. I'll have a whole week to check it out and take lots of pictures. I'l looking forward to te cruise. I pulled my suitcases out last night.
