Cool or Warm weather clothes LA to Hawaii

Leaving 11/26 on Golden Princess to Hawaii.....Should I pack more warm weather or cool weather clothes?? Temps in LA look like here in FL, on the cool side......HELP!

From what I've heard, the first few "sea" days will be on the cool side, jeans or sweats will most likely be worn. I always pack a sweater, even in the Caribbean, so pack a few cool weather clothes too. At least with Princess ships, they have the self service laundry rooms, so you don't need to overpack.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking too.....right now I'm in fleece here in FL and not looking forward to staying in it on my cruise!!

PeggyAnn: please post a review on your return. We're thinking of booking the rt LA/Hawaii cruise on the Golden this spring. Would appreciate hearing your comments.

Definitely will try to post info on my return. Keep looking for threads on this site for Golden, and Hawaii........there have been some really great posts from cruisers who did the same trip in October. More later......

We have done the San Diego to Hawaii cruise twice, both in April.

It's usually chilly for 2 days over, and 2 days back. The tradewinds kick in about that time.

The islands should be warm, but I always take a sweater. I like to plan ahead LOL .

My last passengers that did the same trip on the Diamond last year, 3 couples from chilly Saskatchewan, said that they were not able to go outside for the 3 days on the way to Hawaii... they wore their winter coats to walk on deck.

They also told me the pools never were warm enough to swim in until their last 2 days in Hawaii... hopefully you will have better luck than they did...

I would be prepared for the cold since you are from Florida, you are not perhaps as 'hearty' as we here from the 'Great White North' . (but it's a dry cold they say...lol)

I forgot to add---I usually wear lightweight long sleeved shirts onboard.

I may be wearing sandals and capris, but sometimes those ships are chilly. Each ship I have sailed has had a different temperature so it's hard to judge.
