Has any one had experience with an early flight after the cruise. Our ship arrives in port from Hawaii at 7:00 AM 2/18/09 ,according to the schedule. We have a flight home that leaves at 10:55 AM 2/18/09 from LAX airport. This was the only flight available on that date for us.
Can we get early disembarktation ? What transportation would be available to get us there on time? I wasn't to concerned till I read about the traffic problems in LA and possible delays getting to the airport.Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Just make sure you get an early disembarkment. I don't think I'd wait around for the cruiseline transfers, most likely a cab would be the best way to get to the airport. Sometime during the cruise, they will ask you to fill out your travel info, so be sure to fill it out and turn it in and you can be one of the first ones off the ship and just hope the traffic isn't terrible?
A cab would be quick but expensive especially if there is Wednesday morning traffic. I think SuperShuttle or PrimeTime would be a good choice and less expensive. We did this cruise in February and we could have debarked at 7 am if we wanted. Just make arrangements at the Customer Service desk a few days before. Enjoy!
It is possible. Let them know right away that you need the first check out time. Cab's will be lined up waiting for people. Let your cab driver know you have a early flight and he will get you there fast.
If they tell you it is not possible, and to change your flight, ask them to please do all they can to get you off as early as possible.
Then, when you get your check out tag (the night before check-out) if it is not early enough, go back to the perser's desk and tell them this will not work for us, they will change it.
And have your luggage packed and leave it outside your door the night before you leave so it will be picked up and go through customs and be waiting for you to get it when you leave.
Also, if a group is going before your assigned group, just get in line at the end of the first group, shut up, and walk out.

Your critique of Princess is now better understood. It appears that your attitude is that rules apply to everyone but yourselves. There is rhyme and reason for disembarkation procedures and by jumping the queue you then delay all those behind you by two. If everyone did this there would be pandemonium. We have seen people with colour-coded tags that did not correspond to those being orderly disembarked pulled aside by security. They gain nothing but embarrassment.
