Default Juneau Shore Excursions

We will be on the Golden Princess at the end of July. After reading these boards for awhile it is appears to be absolutely essential that we go whale watching with Harv and Marv, which we want to do. We would also like to helicopter up to the glacier. Need some guidance - is it possible to do both? Our ship is in Juneau from 12 noon to 10 pm. Thank you.

I can't speak for doing both excursion but we did the helicopter ride and glacier walk with NorthStarTrekking that was absolutely breathtaking. We booked it independently from the cruise line and had a great time.

Default Whale Watching

We've done the Wildlife Quest whale watching excursion through Princess and it is well worth the effort. I think it was a half day excursion. I don't know about Harv and Marv (private tour?)

Good luck and enjoy the cruise.

Hey there. We did the whale watching with harv and marv, and can't say enough good things about it. don't miss it. they are great. The tour is a bit over 3 hours, plus it takes about 30 minutes to get to auk bay from the docks. that also means about 30 minutes back. total time is over 4 hours, from whenever they pick you up. additionally, there is a strong possibility that the folks on the tour will be interested in stopping at the mendenhall glacier on the ride back, which will add another hour or so (but is really worthwhile, and doesn't add to the cost, and essentially rolls the glacier tour into the whale watchign at no other charge).

at the end of the day, I doubt you have enough time to do both. that's just my $.02. Have fun1
