Hawaii during the holidays
Has anyone taken the cruise out of either LA or SanDiego to Hawaii during the holiday time in the winter? I heard the seas are rough and it's normally a puker. This is something we are considering for next year.

We did a Hawaiian cruise in early Dec one year & thought it was a great time - the seas weren't to rough, the climate in Hawaii was just right although swimming was a little cool. The Christmas decorations both on the ship & land were being put up.
The first two days out of LA the air temp was a little cool but not so bad as you would need a heavy jacket but as long as you stayed out of a direct wind it was OK.

Sailed on Thanksgiving On the Island Princess. As the above posted, a little cool and chop for a day or so out of LA.

In HI we were sweating on the the tours.

The ship does decorate the place up with Thanksgiving "stuff". The meal for the nigh was a Thanksgiving theme.

The best tour was horseback riding.

Yes I have, and the seas are a little rough on the way out from LA also can get a little routh going to Ensenada. But the cruise is well worth it, my wife & I injoyed the Islands very much. You will too. You may need some kind of jacket the frist two or three days out. tempertures in Hawii are great, you will injoy.
