Default Buying Euros Onboard

I know you can purchase euros from a machine on Princess. I have never done this and wonder what type of fees you have to pay for this service. Would they buy back any unused euros at the end of the cruise?

There was a machine on the Ruby, but it was broken for the whole cruise in May. The purser's desk had euros. I don't remember the conversion rate, but it was more convenient than looking for an ATM machine. We figured since we weren't exchanging thousands of dollars the convenience was worth the lower exchange rate esp. since we were on a TA, and all of the banks were closed in our first European port.

Changing currencies onboard is very expensive. They charge a premium exchange rate plus service fees.

You're much better off buying a few Euros from your bank at home, then using bank ATMs through Europe.
