Default Afternoon Tea

I was wondering about your experiences with afternoon tea on Princess. I really enjoy visiting tea rooms around my area and when I travel. I also put on a very large charity tea each year. I have enjoyed afternoon tea on Carnival. Can you tell me about your tea experiences on Princess. I'll be on my first Princess Cruise next year. March 28th on the Golden. Thank you in advance.

Carol :-)

Hi Carol,

From experiences over the last couple of years on Sea and Golden whilst they were operating in British waters, the afternoons teas were pleasant, if somewhat quiet affairs (with the obvious expception of the self-servive eateries)

One of the restaurants was opened, and as guests arrived they were shown to tables. On the tables were displays of cakes & sandwiches, which were replenished if necessary. The waiters then offered plain and fruit scones with jam & cream, along with a selection of teas.

In the background, piano or string quarted music was played.

I would expect that the same sort of service will be offered on the ships around the rest of the world, and hopefully this will be what you were hoping to hear.

Have a lovely cruise,

Alan & Katrina

[color=darkred]We are Platinum on Princess and wouldn't miss "Afternoon Tea" for anything.

You will be seated at a lovely table. And, served by white-gloved servers. You will be offered scones/jams/cream [not clotted] but very good. The scones are the very best. You will also be offered tea sandwiches/cookies/pies and cakes.

There will be music playing; either piped-in or live harpist or piano player. We have heard all of them and really enjoyed the harpist, most of all!

The tea is Lipton's and it's perfect.

Take your time and enjoy this afternoon delight![/

Thank you. I'm so looking forward to afternoon tea on Princess. I love the event. I enjoy attending teas and going to tea rooms at home. I even host a yearly Hope Tea for cancer survivors at home. Since I'll be on a 14 day cruise this time I'm so excited about enjoying my favorite pasttime. Thank you for your comments.
