We're interested in this cruise because we LOVE sea days. If you have sailed this itinerary, would you please share some pros and cons of this itinerary? I'd also appreciate knowing if there any variations in shows and menus during the 2nd week of the cruise, or is the second week a repeat of the first?

Hi Jan, we sailed the Golden RT from LA last year. It was wonderful! It seems that the entertainment was constantly changing. There were also lectures and movies.

We loved the many sea days, too. There was always a lot going on, or you can do nothing (what we did mostly ).

Some of the menu's were repeats, but there's so much to try that it didn't bother us. The buffet was also good, with lots of choices every night.

The only "con" I can think of us they made us get off the ship after two weeks !

Thanks, Fern. Would you recommend a mini-suite or a stateroom on the Caribe deck? It's a toss up for us...larger bathroom or larger balcony for lounging with a good book on those sea days.

Hi Jan, it really depends on how much you use your balcony and how many people you need to put out there ! A mini-suite balcony is plenty big for two people reading and sunning and will easily seat four people for drinks and chatting.

I think (someone, confirm please?), that while the Caribe balcony is larger, it's only about a foot larger. We've sailed both, and the only advantage to the Caribe balcony is that it's half covered. We don't do anything on our balcony that we wouldn't do on the stage in the Showroom , so an uncovered balcony is not a problem for us.
