Default Room thoughts

Anyone have any comments on sapphire's caribe deck rooms c106 or c109? I understand that you cannot have the balcony doors open during cruising, but what about when your barely moving back near the glaciers? What are your thought overall on these rooms?
Thanks,
High Seas

As far as I know you can open the doors when you like, they don't approve of them being secured open with the aircon on, & in rough weather may say you can't use the balcony.

We've never experienced any restrictions on keeping the balcony door closed during cruising except in rough seas as the other poster mentioned .

You'll love the Caribe deck. The balconies are bigger on this deck and they're partially covered. We appreciated that when we sailed the Sapphire to Alaska. It was windy, cold and drizzled the day we sailed Tracy Arm. There's nothing like sitting under the covered part of your balcony viewing ice bergs and watching a glacier calf while sipping hot chocolate and staying dry.

Enjoy your cruise!

I just checked on the Princess site and these appear to be Oceanview Obstucted Cabins (FF), not Balcony cabins. Here's the link to cabin C106: Sapphire Princess Deck Plans : Princess Cruises

If you want a balcony cabin better check the deck plan again !

Default thank you

thank you for your replies, in regards to checking out the room again if you look at the picture you will see a black square...that is a balcony...I only know this because I booked one of these cabins through princess. My question I guess is how much rocking we will get? and then as stated if we would be able to be out when moving real slow..anyone stayed in either of these?
Thanks again,

Ok, so it appears as tho I was "bamboozled" (is that even a real word) by Princess.....why I dont know its not like it was in their best interest as I was booking thru them. Oh well such is life. So how often do they drop their rates on balcony cabins? Or am I pretty much screwed? kinda leaves a bad taste being as its a first cruise and I am going thru them.
Thanks,
High Seas

Not sure how you booked? Did you do it by phone? Did you ask for a balcony?

Can you call them and tell them you want a different cabin?

I hope things work out.

Default balcony

Call them there very nice to work with if you booked with them directly. Tell them you thought you were booking a balcony room and just see what they say. Good Luck!!

Unfortunately, the reps don't really have a clue what they're doing . Apparently, they just looked at the deck plan and didn't see the category. I'd call and ask for a supervisor if a rep told you that was a balcony cabin. If you have the rep's name, be sure to tell the supervisor.

This is one reason we use a Travel Agent. I could book direct, but between the two of us we usually get it right !

(If you know a TA in your area you can always transfer your booking to them for better service.)

P. S. Yes, bamboozled is a real word ! From Merriam-Webster:
Main Entry: bam·boo·zle
Pronunciation: \bam-ˈbü-zəl\
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): bam·boo·zled; bam·boo·zling \-ˈbüz-liŋ, -ˈbü-zə-\
Etymology: origin unknown
Date: 1703
1 : to deceive by underhanded methods : dupe, hoodwink
2 : to confuse, frustrate, or throw off thoroughly or completely <a quarterback bamboozled by an unexpected defense>
bam·boo·zle·ment \-ˈbü-zəl-mənt\ noun

Good luck,

Ok, we were right and we were wrong . C106 and c109 are identical in that they are the same room just one on one side and the other side of the ship. These rooms actually do have a balcony, however the door has been taken out and replaced with a window....why you might ask....there is a pillar that runs down into the balcony and princess does not want people to climb on it I guess. Anyway, mystery solved. I really dont care for the way I was misled to think that there was a door there tho....not to cool from princess rep.

Worthew, yes i have called, but the only way to get a true balcony is to pay the 300. extra per person, which unfortionantly I cannot afford.
I was truly looking forward to it being a balcony since it is our first cruise and we will be celebrating an anniversery.
Lisa,
It is listed as a room with a blocked view. You cannot access the balcony. What really sucks is that we cant even look down at the ocean because of that balcony whereas some of the other obstructed views you can I believe.
Oh well, perhaps we will be able to upgrade who knows, its just a room right at least we will have sunlight .
