I am sailing in Europe in July on the Ruby Princess and have just been offered a requested upgrade to cabin D119 on the Dolphin Deck. Does anyone have any knowledge about this cabin? Location, noise, balcony view etc? I would love to know if I should accept this one or wait for a better cabin.
I dont have any knowledge of that cabin, but when I'm booking a cabin, I do a Google search of the ship & cabin to see if there are any bolgs or pictures of that cabin. Once I read a blog that came up about a cabin I was thinking of booking, and the blogger complained that it was very noisey because it was one deck below a night club. Was good info to know, I booked in another location on that ship.
Try google or bing... you might find out some useful info.
My only concern with that cabin would be the location. There doesn't appear to be anything located above or below that would cause noise concern but we've had a similar cabin & it involves a lot of walking no matter where you want to go - Especially the Horizon & Cafe Carib where we eat twice a day + drinks, coffee, etc.
We now try to either book towards aft or mid ship.
D119 is a mini-suite. The room is longer in length than the others, with a sitting area, 2 TVs, a tub/shower. The balcony has no cover, fully open to view from the balconies above. If that's not a bother to you, then it's a really nice room. The only other issue would be the location being toward the front of the ship and motion sickness if you happen to be prone to it.
Yes - if you go to the Princess website and look at the Ruby deck plan, you can hover your mouse over any cabin and get more information.
