Default Caribbean Medley: Excursion recommendatios

We are going on the Emerald Oct 9. Can anyone recommend some good shore excursions for some of the islands. We will be visiting Princess Caye, Dominica, Grenada, Aruba, Bonaire, and St Thomas. I know we will either snorkle or scuba in Bonaire but would like to site see the islands as well.

Thanks

Princess Cay is a beach stop. I would recommend a trip in Dominica as this a a "nature island", also of late a bit "iffy" to wander on your own. Grenada has good beaches (try another rather than Grand Anse) also things like nutmeg & cocoa places, the jungly bits devastated by "Ivan" should be ok now, the port itself is charming, with a big market uphill over the back. Aruba is like a desert but with nicer shops, not been to the others.

i totally agree with John's recommendations. The Spice Plantation tours on Grenada are very interesting and beautiful. St. Thomas is another possibilty for a good snorkel stop, i would get over to St. John Island, it is beautiful and has some very good snorkeling, go to www.vinow.com for ferry schedules and beach information. Meagans Bay beach on St. Thomas is gorgeous, but no snorkeling and its a bit of a tourist trap, imo. IF you want to do a bit of shopping, St.Thomas would be a good choice, if you dock at Havensight the mall is right there. Another interesting thing to do in St. Thomas is the Paradise Point Tramway, its a short walk from Havensight pier, to take the tram up the mountain, the view of the harbor from the top is amazing, there is a beautiful botanitcal garden there also.

we have just came from our caribbean last week on carnival. we had the best excursion in Domminica.. we did tours with nature isle explorers, they did a fantastic job.
we did the Dominica most captivating, we went to a waterfalls, swim at the ti tou gorge, bathe in the hot mineral water and visit the sulfur spring..
it was really amazing.
we book through their website..Nature Isle Explores

i highly recommend it.. its a must
