The Fall Captain's Circle Magazine just arrived and I was pleased to see that there is a new early-bird (5:15 or 5:30pm) seating time in the Botticelli Dining Room on the larger ships. I immediately called my TA and changed from late to early-bird. I like the idea of finishing dinner before 7:00pm and having the rest of the evening free! Anyone else think this is a good idea?

I think this is a great idea. I often wondered why they hadn't added more tratitional seating, when so many cruisers get wait listed for it. I think I was like 200th on the wait list last Princess cruise, so what does that say? May-be someone with the powers that be finally listened? I too like the early seating best and then having the rest of the evening free to do whatever. With the open seating we'd still get to the dining room by 6:30 only to wait in line and then dinner was running over, we couldn't get a seat for the show..It sure looked like to me, that others have the same idea and want an early dinner.
That should free up the dining rooms for later seatings. What a great idea.

We've been always going to early seating (even though we do AT) & although a little rushed at times is great to be finished dinner before the crowds rush to get a seat in the show lounge. It's obviously not for everyone but it fits us just great.
I think the change, which isn't all that much, was offered to equal out the rush for the galley & they can accommodate a more even flow of passengers.
We always go for the early dinner time so we can catch the first show. We get great seats and have the later evening for the entertainment in the other lounges and the casino.
