Does a Kindle work on cruises to Europe or Transatlantic Cruises?
Did not know if I should take mine or not.
Can you use them on planes?
I only recently bought one and do not know if it will be worth taking with me on flights and cruises.
Thanks in advance.
A Kindle is a electronic reader. You download books and can read it on the device.
I have a Barnes and Noble Nook....and my understanding is I can take it anywhere...just make sure u have loads of books downloaded on ur Kindle and you'll be fine...don't forget ur charger...

yes, u can it on the plane...I just got my Nook and I'll be taking it with me on my cruise.
The Kindle should have an "airplane" mode that turns off the wireless. Leaving the device in this mode will extend your charge anyway. Why interrogate the network when all you are doing is reading.

I have a Kindle and love it. Always take it when I travel. I live in a very rural area so my wireless does not work anyway. I always leave it off and download any books I want thought my computer to my Kindle. When I travel I just take the currency plug adapter for when I am off the ship (like in hotels before and after the cruise) You do not need a converter since the kindle handles currency from 110-220. On the ship of course you are covered because they use the 110 as in the US. I am going on a three week trip in the spring, including a 12 day cruise in Europe and plan on downloading about 10 books before I leave. I don't have to worry about packing enough books anymore. I even have a little light to clip on the kindle for those overnight flights (my husband sleeps......I don't)
Thanks everyone.........I will take my kindle with me then....but first to download some books of interest. Sure beats having to carry hardbacks or softcover books and the ship libraries seem never to have anything I am interested in.
