I have read elsewhere on this site that the Princess Ruby charges $15.00 a person to go ashore in Venice, if you do not book a tour. Is this correct?
We have booked some tours in other ports but plan to see Venice on our own.
Never been on a cruise where they charge you to go ashore so think something is wrong here.
Princess provides a shuttle from the port to St. Mark's Square for $15 pp. You are given a pair of vouchers at embarkation (if your cruise starts in Venice). If you don't use the vouchers you can return them to the purser's desk and you won't be charged.
It is a short walk from the cruise terminal to Piazzale Roma (about 15 minutes). From there you can catch the water taxis.
