Default New print yourself luggage tags

I recently returned from a cruise and made do with our luggage tags. I heard people applied tape to them, used a laminator, etc. so I got concerned about whether I should reinforce them or not. I found something to use, but when I got home I did some research and found these:

*edited for commercial content*

I think they're great because they're reusable.

Thanks! They do look good. I just ordered some. Will let you know what I think when they arrive.

You can also go to an office supply store and buy vertical name badges - then get cable ties to thread through them ... cut the tag to size and you're in business.

Not my original idea but I'm using it on my upcoming trip.

I'll have to try those when I run out of package tape. Although it might be awhile until I run out of package tape.

Default Luggage Tag Report

The luggage tags I ordered arrived. They're a great quality. Now we just have to wait till we can use them in January!

Our cruising friends gave us a couple of these and they worked great. We just got off the Ruby and when we embarked I noticed luggage in the hall with just the paper luggage tags on. They all looked like they held up really well. I really don't think all the laminating and packing tape in necessary.

How could you possibly need such a thing? After all, the luggage tag PDF says "This luggage tag has been successfully tested for durability".

I wonder how one tests a PDF for durability?

These are a great idea and inexpensive, too!

I normally just print my tags out on card stock which is heavier than regular paper. I print a number of tags and put at least 2 on each checked bag. Haven't had a problem yet. I also use a colored stock which is easy to spot.

Sounds like a good idea, we printed ours off, & as the finished tag is one third of UK A4 we then put it in one of those plastic A4 wallets & folded it round length ways, stapled it, put a reinforced eye in each end of it & are going to attach them with cable ties...we shall see!!

On NCL last month, we printed them on plain paper and taped the ends. One made it fine, one was totally mangled. Fortunately we had our regular ID tag on the bag and it made it to our cabin in good time. After that I don't much trust the eprinted tags.

My November cruise I used the paper ones with staples and another set using the vertical label holders ... both worked but the paper ones were kind of beat up.

And, thanks to your suggestion and link, today I received the 4 holders (you must order 4) and I'm sure they'll be much better for my April cruise.

Thanks very much.

Default Mail Tape Works

I wrapped our paper ones with clear mail tape and they worked but I also wrapped the end of the stapled sides as they did arrive twisted.
Might have survived but I also wrote our cabin number on yellow electrical tape and placed on our address tages, just in case.

I have ordered the plastic holders but will wrap tape around the tag holder itself as I've found over time these do get twisted off.

Cheers

Thank you for the tip about the tags. I was one who would use the packing tape to laminate mine. Looking forward to getting the order. Thanks bunches.
