Do you like the nip tuck?
So, do you like the new Grand Class Look? Is it now Grand? Buh bye handle.

Donna May 16th, 2011 10:21 AM

I do like the new look, but I also liked the handle with the night club up there. I supposed it is now in a different location on the ship??

I have used the aft pool area, and now it looks much more open, bet that is nice too.

she certainly is "grand" like Donna, i thought that having Skywalkers Night Club up over the stern of the ship was kinda neat, definately an interesting view from there. Do like the idea of the aft pool being more open

To me Skywalkers was always a rough ride unless the ocean was extremely calm & only went there for special events and was very much underutilized. I will miss the shade it provided on hot sunny days.

The new look is grand and it gives her more class, can't wait to sail on her again.

I liked the view from Skywalkers but I can see why they wanted it gone. I'm a little puzzled about the target market for the Window Suites on deck 6. I just don't see the attraction...

I think she looks great! We never made it up to Skywalker's so we won't miss it :) .

Had a great view up there, will miss that, but I think the ship looks better without it.

Looks Grand to me.

Why did they remove it?
We liked the Skywalker Lounge and will miss it. Around Cape Horn (Star Princess) It was freezing. The Skywalker Lounge gave us a tremendous view while keeping us warm. Through Dusky, Milford, and Thompson Sounds in New Zealand, everyone was scrambling on deck and jockeying for position, while in the Skywalker Lounge (Diamond Princess) we had the best and most comfortable view. On Grand Princess, since it was underutilized, it was a great and quiet place to get away from everything and yet still enjoy the view. On Royal Princess (a small ship), there was no Skywalker Lounge and seasoned Princess passengers complained about its absence.

The only complaint I ever had with the Skywalker Lounge was that (unless you knew the ship) it was hard to find. This may account for its underutilization.

Why did they remove it? Just to open up the aft pool area?

I can assume, they will be modifying all the "Grand" class ships like this??
