It's one of the chances you take when you bring any valuable item on vacation. A cabin steward shouldn't be responsible for a $900 item left carelessly on a bunk. By he way, I dropped my leather-encased IPad face first on my cement patio and shattered the screen to pieces. Had to pony up 350 bucks to replace it, but still less expensive than buying a new one.
But don't delete them. They serve a valid purpose in demonstrating the worthlessness of such posts, and can also serve as valuable learning opportunities. Perhaps some readers will remember this post next time they book, and take insurance to cover their property. Perhaps others will remember it and decide that their kids can leave valuable electronics at home. So the post itself serves a purpose and deserves to stay up and be commented on.
It is the whining OP who loses respect by his actions. That is sufficient.
